Mike Anderson, Vice President, Business Development & Sales, GotVoice
Mike Anderson has fifteen plus years of experience in large corporate and startup environments spanning the telecommunications, private equity and financial services industries. Prior to GotVoice, Mr. Anderson was co-founder of Fly Fashions, a cell phone accessories company whose customers included T-Mobile, AT&T Wireless, Superior Communications, and Sony Ericsson. Before this, he served as a vice president at Washington Mutual, where he was responsible for managing the company's $150 million venture capital fund. Earlier in his career, Mr. Anderson founded Sound Design Group, which provided consultancy and investment services for early-stage technology companies including Mobliss(Index Corp), Terabeam(YDI), Match.com(InterActive Corp), NavTeq and Convergence Corp(Amazon). His telecom tenure was with TDS, a Fortune 500 company with cellular and landline telecommunications operations in 36 states. Mike serves on the Alliance of Angels board and the advisory board of TravellingWave, a speech to text solution for mobile phones. Julie Ask, VP and Research Director, JupiterResearch
Julie Ask focuses on evolving trends in the telecommunications - specifically wireless - industry, examining both the marketing and technology issues these companies face as they look to deploy new technologies and services to enhance their businesses. Clint Brown, Board of Directors, Wi-Fi Alliance
Clint W. Brown is a Board member and Treasurer for the Wi-Fi Alliance™, a global non-profit organization with the goal of driving the adoption of a single worldwide-accepted standard for high-speed wireless local area networking. He is currently the Director of Business Development in Broadcom's Wireless Networking Business Unit. Tom Carter, President of North & South American Operations, Truphone
Tom Carter has a career spanning more than 20 years, during which he has founded and funded startups and has led sales, marketing and business-development teams in Asia, Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. Prior to truphone, as co-founder of BridgePort Networks, Mr. Carter personally funded the initial development team and actively participated in the operation of the company. He was also co-founder of @Mobile, a venture-backed application-services provider for wireless carriers and Internet content providers. During the mid-1990s, while at Tandem Computers, Mr. Carter was instrumental in pioneering the first off-switch "home location register" application for mobile-subscriber authorization—now deployed in 20 countries across 73 carriers. Timothy Chang, Principal, Northwest Venture Partners
Tim Chang brings a combination of operational, technical and international business experience to Norwest Venture Partners. Mr. Chang focuses on investments in wireless and digital media as well as business development initiatives in Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining NVP, he was a principal at Gabriel Venture Partners where he was actively involved in over a dozen wireless-related deals and led Gabriel's investments in Iridigm Display Corporation (acquired by Qualcomm), Eyespot, Sequoia Communications, Sandbridge, and Kajeet. Mr. Chang built Gabriel's wireless sector practice and helped establish business development capabilities through strong, strategic relationships across the wireless value chain, particularly in Asia-Pacific. Dave Hagen is responsible for the strategic direction as well as day-to-day operations at Boingo. Mr. Hagen has over 20 years experience in senior management roles in the telecommunications industry with Sprint in the U.S. and Canada and served as division president and executive vice president for Sprint. He is responsible for launching the consumer business under the Sprint brand, which grew to be a $600 million business, the largest alternative long distance company in Canada. Mr. Hagen is also responsible for launching an ISP service in Canada under the Sprint brand, called The Most Online, which was the second largest ISP in Canada.
